This Humantay Lake Tour begins bright and early at 4:30 a.m. with a pickup from your accommodation in Cusco City. We offer pickup services from any location, including hotels, Airbnb, hostels, and apartments. Just ensure your stay is near the city center and accessible by route.

Our journey starts with a comfortable three-hour drive in our well-equipped van to Mollepata, situated at 3,850 meters (12,631 feet). Here, you’ll savor a delightful breakfast at a charming local restaurant, setting the tone for an exciting day ahead.

After breakfast, we continue our drive to the trailhead of Soraypampa. Prepare for a thrilling hike to Humantay Lake, perched at 4,200 meters (13,779 feet) at the base of the majestic Humantay Mountain. If you prefer, you can rent horses from the local community (for an extra fee). The hike takes about two hours and offers spectacular views of the mountain, chances to spot local bird species, and the option for a horseback ride.

The trail is not too difficult, but we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and carrying plenty of water. Upon reaching Humantay Lake, you’ll have ample time to soak in the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding peaks. Take a leisurely stroll, enjoy the pristine environment, and just observe the serene beauty of this high-altitude region.

After exploring the lake, we’ll hike back for about an hour to Soraypampa, where a special picnic lunch awaits. Our expert chefs will prepare a delicious meal using fresh, local ingredients, all while you relish the stunning views of the Salkantay and Humantay mountains.
